Original Abstract Paintings

While most of the original abstract paintings shown on this web site are completed on canvas, there are also a number of paintings on paper. When deciding between the two, it is important to know the qualities of each.

Paintings on Canvas vs. Paintings on Paper

There is a different feeling between paintings completed on paper versus those completed on canvas. Canvas has more of a give to it than paper and tends to allow the artist to put more depth into the painting. In addition, paintings on canvas can be far larger in size than works completed on paper. Judy typically paints canvases directly on the wall and paper paintings on an easel. Most of the abstract paintings within a specific series will share similar qualities that make them a part of the abstract series that Judy has completed.

Price Differences in Paintings on Canvas vs. Paintings on Paper

There is a price difference between those paintings on canvas and those on paper. Unframed art on paper ranges from $300 to $1,000, varying in size from 12 by 15 inches up to 19 by 39 inches.

Unframed art on canvas ranges from $700 to $3,300, and can be completed in a size up to 50 by 70 inches.
